Multilingual Counseling |
Native speakers are available to offer guidance and general counseling. |
Once a week –a different language available each day of the week. |
Japanese Language Support |
Japanese language classes are available for foreign residents. From 2010, courses for parents with young babies and children (who require childcare), courses for children, evening classes, and the Omiya Center language course with nursery-school facilities are available for the convenience of a larger number of foreign residents. |
Every Friday (with the exception of the 5th Friday of any given month) |
Volunteer Japanese Teacher Training Seminar |
A course for those who may be interested in becoming volunteer Japanese Language teachers, or improving their skills. |

Foreign Language Courses |
Start from the beginning! Courses available for those who would like to share their interests and passion for foreign languages with fellow students. |
Twice a year |
Parenting Support |
Support and Information for foreign residents (parents) and their families, particularly on issues regarding child rearing/parenting in Japan. |

Salon Activities |
Our “Puratto Salon” is coordinated by volunteers, and our activities are held at SAGA (Comunale Building, 9th floor). |

Mini-Seminars |
We offer short open seminars on a variety of subjects related to cross-cultural understanding and how to implement meaningful changes in a multicultural society. |

Panel Exhibitions |
In addition to the mini-seminars, exhibitions are organized to promote the culture and customs of other nations. |
Exhibitions run for one month per subject. |

Conversation Salon |
The Conversation Salon is available in several languages. Meetings are organized by a volunteers and do not necessarily include the presence of a lecturer. |

Party at Japanese Language Institute |
Exchange between the trainees of the Japanese Language International Center (teachers of Japanese Language abroad) and Saitama residents. |

Exchange Parties with foreigners who have recently become residents of Saitama city. |

Home-visit program |
One-day visit to a Japanese home offered for foreign students. Free exchange activities such as going out together, occasional visits, etc. |

Introducing our Sister Cities |
Saitama city has 6 Sister and Friendship cities in 5 different countries around the world. We engage in a diversity of activities in order to promote mutual understanding, facilitate further exchange, and implement projects. |

Kimono Experience |
Organized by Japanese volunteers, this event allows for foreign residents to experience being dressed in traditional kimono and get a closer “taste” of Japanese culture. |

International Friendship Fair |
An event that offers introducing international organization and traditional crafts and foods for sale from a diversity of countries, stage performances, and fun activities for children in the “exchange tent” (games, etc) |

Junior Sports Teams Exchange with Sister Cities |
Exchange between Junior Sports Teams from Saitama city and some of its sister cities (Toluca, Richmond, and Hamilton) biannually. |

International Exchange Fair |
An event that promotes intercultural understanding and provides a showcase for the cultural activities, performances, traditional products, and foods and drinks representative of our sister cities and other associations. This event was held for the first time in 2010. |

Japanese Speech Contest for Foreign Residents |
A Japanese language contest where foreign residents express their feelings and opinions about a diversity of issues, such as daily life in Japan. |

SAGA Members Party |
A gathering that brings together members of the SAGA conversation, and exchange groups, with the intention of furthering coordination and cooperation among us. |

Volunteer Training Seminar |
These seminars provide training for volunteer activities such as those interested in assisting foreign residents with issues such as disaster response, etc. |
Several times a year |
Youth Volunteer Training Seminar |
Seminars that aim at providing information about volunteer activities (characteristics, opportunities, etc) for students, from junior high school to university. Members also take part in the activities of the International Friendship Fair. |
